Result of piercing
Jewellery may ‘grow out’, particularly in places where there’s not a big enough skin for it, such as your eyebrows, or where it’s in constant motion, for example in navel piercings. Sometimes this may happen simply because your immune system rejects the foreign body.
While this is not dangerous, you should remove the jewellery straight away, as otherwise it could cause scarring.
