Physical reactions

Most piercings heal well, and allergic reactions are rare. But before you have a piercing or choose a new piece of jewellery, you should make sure you’re not allergic to the materials. Some, such as silver, nickel, cadmium, and lead, may cause symptoms more serious than the normal redness and itching.

By the way, if you suffer from hay fever, don’t have your nose pierced during the season. Sneezing and blowing your nose irritate the piercing and slow the healing process.
