While exercise is good for your health, you should refrain from it as your new piercing heals. Movement and clothing can irritate it, and sweat makes healing more difficult.
If you play a lot of heavy contact sports, you shouldn’t normally get pierced in the first place – there’s too great a risk that the piercing will get torn out. But if you’re determined to have one, perhaps on your ear, eyebrow or nose, cover it with a plaster while you play.
